Peer Mentorship
Veterans guiding veterans — every step of the way
Service to School Ambassadors are more than mentors — they’re your peers who’ve been in your shoes, navigated the admissions process, and gained admission to the very programs they now support. They know the road because they’ve walked it, and they’re here to help you chart your own path forward.
Many of our Ambassadors were once Service to School applicants themselves. Now, they’re paying it forward — volunteering their time, insight, and experience to help you succeed. Through honest guidance, thoughtful feedback, and one-on-one mentorship, our Ambassadors are committed to helping you find and gain admission to the right college or graduate program for your goals.
Why Peer Mentorship Matters
The admissions process is about more than test scores and transcripts. It’s about telling your story, finding your fit, and making confident decisions about your future. That’s where our Ambassadors come in — they serve as a sounding board, cheerleader, and guide throughout your journey.
From brainstorming essay topics to deciding where to apply, Ambassadors help take the guesswork out of applying — and bring the personal connection that makes all the difference.
What Ambassadors Do
Share perspective based on their own experience
Coach you on shaping your story and finding your voice
Clarify who to ask and how to ask for support or information
Challenge you to reflect on academics, culture, and long-term goals
Serve as a consistent, supportive presence throughout your application journey
Navigate the challenges of transitioning from the military to college alongside you
Beyond just the "how" of applying, Ambassadors support the "why" — helping you explore schools and programs that align with your interests and aspirations. Their goal is the same as yours: to help you attend the school that’s the best fit for your future.
