Mentor Veterans and Service Members
Join the Service to School Ambassador Team
Every year, thousands of veterans and service members make the transition from the military to higher education. It’s not easy—but you’ve done it. Now it’s your turn to help someone else do the same.
At Service to School, our Ambassadors are the heart of our mission: veterans and service members who volunteer their time to mentor others through the college or graduate school admissions process.
If you're a current student or graduate of a two-year, four-year, or graduate program, we need your experience and insight.
Why Become an Ambassador?
Support the next generation of veterans.
Your story and experience could be the encouragement someone needs to aim higher—and apply with confidence.
Give back to the community that helped you.
Many of our Ambassadors were once Service to School applicants themselves. Now they’re paying it forward.
Grow as a leader and mentor.
Refine your communication, coaching, and leadership skills while making a real difference.
Stay connected.
Join a network of student veterans, alumni, and advocates who are transforming the landscape of higher education for military-connected applicants.
What Ambassadors Do
Mentor applicants 1:1 through the college or graduate school admissions process
Share your experiences applying, writing essays, and transitioning to academic life
Provide encouragement and honest feedback along the way
Support applicants for programs you've experienced, such as undergrad, law school, business school, med school, or other graduate degrees
Whether you have just 1 hour a week or can take on multiple applicants, we’ll match you based on your time and experience.

Not a Veteran But Still Want to Help? We welcome volunteers with admissions, editing, or higher education experience to support our mission.
