To & Through Back to School Night in NYC
On September 6th, we gathered at 5th & MAD in Midtown Manhattan for an evening that brought student veterans, employers, and admissions professionals together in a meaningful way. The space was filled with great conversations, new connections, and plenty of energy as people shared experiences, career goals, and future plans over food and drinks.
A special thank you goes to Jack Murphy—former Green Beret, journalist, and author—who gave us a glimpse into his time in the military, offered advice to new students, and spoke about being an author in New York. His stories reminded us of both the strength and the complexity within the veteran community.
We were also fortunate to be joined by leaders in higher education and public service, including the Director of Admission at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, the Director of Duke University’s Master’s in Financial Technology program, and the Director of Veteran Transition from the NYC Department of Veteran Services. Their presence underscored the support that continues to open doors for student veterans.
This event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Holden Lindbolm and VetraFi, whose commitment to veterans’ academic and professional success makes a real difference.
We’re excited to keep building on the momentum of this night and look forward to bringing our community together again soon.
