Service to School Announces Six New Partner Schools as VetLink Grows
Nov 10, 2017- As Veterans Day approaches, Service to School (S2S) is proud to announce new partnerships with Pomona College, the University of Chicago, Syracuse University, Emory University, Stanford University, and Harvard University. These six schools have joined Service to School’s VetLink Program, where veterans are directly connected with partnered schools during their undergraduate application process.
These distinguished universities join the existing VetLink partners- Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT), Princeton, Yale, Smith, Williams, Amherst, Notre Dame, and Cornell in ensuring veterans have access to the best undergraduate programs in the country.
“Too often, enlisted service members underestimate their skills, competencies, and potential,” said Gus Giacoman, an Army veteran and S2S’s co-founder. Service to School’s VetLink is changing the veteran to student narrative. “There are many great schools that are looking for qualified service members and VetLink will bridge that gap,” said Giacoman.
S2S provides its partner schools an effective way to identify, evaluate, and accept qualified veterans for its undergraduate programs. For veterans, the VetLink program serves to support them in finding a top college that is the best fit for their interests while working through the nuanced college application process and providing one on one mentorship.
“We work hard to enroll Veterans every year because we know this community is a crucial part of what makes Pomona special—and it’s why our partnership with Service to School is so important. Service to School has grown the pipeline for college-going Veterans across this country and they are a leader when it comes to this work. Mentorship and support are crucial for students navigating the college admissions process at highly selective institutions. We are proud to partner with an organization doing so much good for so many Veterans across the United States, ” said Adam Sapp, Director of Admissions, Pomona College.
