Moses’ Veteran applicant shared some inspiring words on the impacts of his mentorship: “Moses was an integral part of my college admission journey. My wife and I were both transitioning out of the military and decided to call upon the help of S2S to assist our college application process. S2S understood that our situation was nuanced, as my wife and I requested to have the same ambassador on our journey. Moses stepped up to the occasion and took on the tasks of mentoring my wife and me.

Moses took hours out of his busy schedule to guide us through the ins-and-outs of the college application process. He took the time to answer our questions, and even went as far as finding points of contacts that would answer any questions that he did not know. He also provided input on our college essays, providing grammatical and literary critiques when applicable.

For all of these benefits, we are extremely grateful. Though, most importantly, Moses gave us the motivation and encouragement needed to strive in the application process. He reminded us that we were capable of getting accepted into universities that we never thought capable of attending. Because of his efforts, I was accepted into Columbia University School of General Studies, and my wife was accepted into Columbia University and Princeton University.

Moses, along with the S2S staff, changed our lives forever. We are extraordinarily grateful at the volunteers who made this possible.” – Austin Lambert, Columbia University - School of General Studies, Fall 2023
